if I can't find the answer I am looking for?
We have tried to provide answers to most questions which we
have been asked in the past - however there will always be the
odd question which you can't find the answer to. We always welcome

Will
my website be on the internet in 48 hours?
Your website will usually be available for public viewing on
the internet within 48 hours of us receiving your order, payment,
and full information needed to create the website. There are
a few standard exceptions (for example, it is not possible for
us to register domain names and complete your website over a
weekend or Bank Holiday period), and if there are any unexpected
delays in producing your website we will always keep you informed.
Why
should I use Online Britain?
Online Britain is a trading subsidiary of Image Website Design,
and our ethos/philosophy is to provide simple, straightforward
3 page websites for SMEs in Britain - to enable businesses to
gain credibility by getting themselves onto the internet with
a website and email address quickly & with minimal outlay.
Image Website Design have considerable experience in producing
quality
bespoke brochure websites for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
(SMEs), and through Online Britain have launched the cost effective
Pay As You Go 3 page website.
Because Online Britain has the full support of Image Website
Design our clients can be assured that their website needs can
be met either from our own 3 page website package, or by tailoring
their needs in a more bespoke package provided by Image
Website Design.

are your prices so low?
Online Britain are the market leaders in provision of high quality,
low cost, Pay As You Go business websites. Our business strategy
is to keep the costs to our clients as low as possible and still
provide the highest levels of service. This is why the vast
majority of the customers who visit our site purchase a website
from us.
Online Britain & Image Website Design believe that British
Businesses NEED their websites, and NEED business email addresses,
and we are prepared to provide these facilities at practical
prices. We would rather have a multitude of satisfied clients,
who we have helped to get onto the internet, than just a few
clients who have paid us over-inflated industry standard prices.
Many companies in the UK IT industry will be happy to charge
high prices just for registering a domain name or
providing hosting, or for
providing email facilities, or
for website
design. Online Britain provide all these services in one package
(enabling us to keep costs down), plus we have developed a way
of saving much of the design time, and are able to produce our
3 page websites quickly and efficiently - saving you much of
the expense of a traditional bespoke website design!
Do
prices include VAT?
Online Britain is not registered for VAT, so all our prices
are fully inclusive with no extras to pay.
How
do I renew my hosting?

Website
Upgrade/Update
The 3 page website is the default requirement for most businesses
looking for a website.
We offer 3 simple upgrades on our standard package, which can
be added with your original order:
1) Add an online contact form on your contact page (similar
to the one used on our Contact Us
page) - £50 one-off charge.
2) Add an extra page to make it a 4 page website - £50
one-off charge (for 5 or more pages we can provide a quoute
through Image Website Design).
3) Add library photos - if you don't have the right pictures/photos
for your website we can use our extensive copyright free photo
libraries to provide the professional image you need - £50
one-off charge (for up to 4 pictures).
Please contact us prior to placing your order, for more information.
We will be happy to action any website upgrading or updating
in the future. Simply inform us of the changes, and we will
advise if there is any cost involved in the updating. Very simple
changes will be carried out free of charge, while major changes
to page content will be chargeable (typically £25-£50
per page)
If
you are looking at changing from the 3 page website to a more
bespoke design, then we can pass your account across to Image
Website Design who are experienced in designing a bespoke website
tailored to meet your requirements.
Can
I upgrade my hosting package?
We offer several upgrades on the hosting package. Most of our
clients find that our basic package suits their needs - however
the following upgrade options are available (please
use our contact form, or give us a call if you would like more
information or prices):
Advanced Mail box - For
spam and virus free email. Uses any POP3 mail software (e.g.
Outlook), Spam and virus protection.
Increased POP3 e-mail accounts
- A POP3 mail box stores e-mails on the web securely until you
are ready to read them. Collect e-mails securely via your e-mail
program (i.e. Outlook Express) using the POP3 e-mail box provided
(allows you to increase your POP3 accounts from just 1, to 10,
or even unlimited number of POP3 accounts).
E-mail forwarders - An e-mail
forwarder forwards all the e-mail sent to your POP3 account
to your existing e-mail address (this would mean you can continue
to use your existing e-mail facility and do not need to use
webmail or Outlook).
Matrix Statistics - View
real-time usage statistics for your web site, see how many people
are visiting your site, where they come from, what search keywords
they use to find you and more.
Can
I move my domain name away?
You will be the owner of the domain name, and we do not make
a charge for moving your domain name away.
Any money already paid to Online Britain for the original website
or for ongoing hosting is non-refundable.
What
about the technical side of hosting?
We provide a fully managed website for you - you tell us what
you want on the website, and we design & upload it for your
- simple and easy.
The following are provided for those who have an interest in
the more technical side of the hosting package:
*We provide effectively un-restricted Visitor Bandwidth (the
amount of information going through the internet from your website
to all your visitors). The vast majority of businesses don't
use an excessive amount of bandwidth, and our 3 page website
is designed to meet the needs of SME businesses. In the very
unlikely event that your website uses excessive bandwidth, and
we are unable to continue to host your website, we will refund
the current PAYG hosting fee.
*Your website is mirrored on a separate disk in order to protect
against disk failure.
*Our website servers provide 99.9% uptime, so you know that
your website will be hosted on a reliable platform.
*If you decide, for whatever reason, to move your domain name
away from Online Britain we will not charge you an administration
fee to do so.
*You are the owner of your domain. If we register a domain for
you then you retain full ownership of it and have the right
to transfer it away at any time for no charge.

We
are a trading subsidiary of Image Website Design and, unless
detailed to the contrary in this section, the Terms
and Conditions for Image Website Design also apply to Online
Britain.
Your
website on the internet in 48 hours
We will endeavour to produce and upload your website to the
internet within 48 hours of us receiving your order, payment,
and full information needed to create the website (we will send
you an email when we have received all the information from
you, confirming when the website will be available for public
viewing). There are a few standard exceptions (for example,
it is not possible for us to register domain names and complete
your website over a weekend or Bank Holiday period), and if
there are any unexpected delays in producing your website we
will always keep you informed.
The
following refer to the Image Website Design Terms & Conditions,
and clarify conditions not applicable to Online Britains clients.
By including a comment below we are not necessarily over-riding
the entire paragraph being referred to on the Terms & Conditions
for Image Website Design, unless specifically stated.
Your
Contract
Design & Hosting with Online Britain are paid in advance,
and any contract commences with your first payment to Online
Britain.
Invoices
and quotations
We
will issue an invoice for the original Website, on receipt of
your payment, which will be based on the online order form
Client
responsibilites
Websites are usually completed and uploaded within 48 hours.
We ask that you are available during this time to proof read
and confirm that the final website contact is correct.
Cancellation
Policy
Work on your website will start almost immediately your order
is placed and payment made. We are unable to cancel an order,
once payment has been made.
If you contravene any of the hosting conditions, your
hosting will be deemed to have expired, and you will not receive
any reimbusement for any unused period of hosting.
Curtailment
of Order
Work
on your website will start almost immediately your order is
placed and payment made. We are unable to cancel or curtail
an order, once payment has been made.
Non-payment,
or late-payment of accounts
Your hosting will be on a Pay As You Go basis. If the hosting
period expires your website will be removed, so that it is no
longer be available for viewing at the domain.
In the event that a payment is not honoured, your hosting will
be deemed to have expired, and we will take proceedings to recover
any monies owed to us.
Domain
name, email, and hosting
We only supply .co.uk domain names for your website.
We cannot transfer-in any domain name for your website. If you
already have a domain name then a transfer-in may be actioned
as part of a bespoke package with Image Website Design. Alternatively
we would recommend that you choose a new domain name for your
website (e.g. add a '-' into the domain name - www.mydomain.co.uk
could become www.my-domain.co.uk).
A .co.uk name is initially registered for 2 years - the current
cost of renewal is £10. We will inform you by email when
renewal is due.
E-commerce solutions
E-commerce solutions are not available on these website packages.
Search
engine submissions
We will submit your website to at least 3 principal search engines.
Unlimited
use policy

Trademarks, and Company Names, etc

Hosting,
third party adverts, & hyperlinks
We do not allow you to transfer-in your website &/or domain
from another hosting company, and we do not design websites
which will be hosted on third party hosting servers.
Amendments,
updates, and alterations to the website
We provide a managed website hosting package. Online Britain
will be able to upload changes to your website.

Transferring
your webhosting
You may transfer your domain to a different hosting provider
at any time. You are the owner of the domain. We will make no
charge to transfer-away a domain, unless we incur a charge.
We will endeavour to ensure that any domain transfer is actioned
quickly & efficiently.
It is your responsibility to download the source & image
files from your live website on the internet before the domain
transfer is requested.
